Science that unites: key highlights of BioGENext Conference 2026
For the second time, BioGENext brought together people whose lives are dedicated to biological science, biotechnology, and biomedical research. People united by a desire to advance Ukrainian science, share knowledge, find like-minded colleagues, and work together to create an environment for new research and discoveries.
This year, more than 900 participants registered for the conference, with over 400 attending in person. A special issue of Biopolymers and Cell featured 120 research papers. The BioGENext Project Pitching competition attracted 33 research projects, four of which received awards and additional support from partners.
Behind each of these numbers are people. Their work, perseverance, years of research, and determination to find answers to complex scientific questions.
It is especially meaningful that this gathering took place in Kyiv, despite all the challenges our country faces today. Difficult circumstances should not force us to give up on ambitious goals. On the contrary, now is the time to preserve Ukraine’s scientific potential, expand research capabilities, and strengthen ties with the global scientific community.
We want Ukrainian researchers to have the opportunity to work on world-class projects right here in Ukraine. We want promising ideas to find support, research teams to find partners, and research findings to evolve into practical solutions that can transform medicine and improve people’s quality of life.
Thank you to everyone who was part of BioGENext 2026: scientists, participants, volunteers, and partners.
The conference has ended. But the connections, collaborations, and projects that began here are only gaining momentum. Being part of this progress means a great deal to us.
