Description and Properties

Nasal spray SNOTTY SINUS URGENT is an 11% xylitol solution based on 100% natural hypertonic sea water solution from the purest region of France: Brittany, Cancale-Sud. Sea water contains natural minerals and trace elements.

Indicated for relieving nasal swelling and congestion, thinning and improving the excretion of nasal secretions, improving ciliary epithelial function and cleansing the nasal mucosa, reducing local inflammatory processes, and preventing bacterial infections of the upper respiratory tract.

Nasal spray SNOTTY SINUS URGENT can be safely used in children from 3 years of age and adults.

Nasal spray SNOTTY SINUS URGENT can be used during pregnancy and lactation.

Nasal spray SNOTTY SINUS URGENT quickly relieves nasal congestion in case of upper respiratory tract infections and allergies.

Xylitol is the main component of the medical device. Under reduced pH conditions, it stabilizes cellular protein structures. Due to its osmolytic properties, it regulates salt metabolism on the surface of the nasal mucosa and nasopharynx. The high concentration of xylitol (11%) hinders the adhesion (attachment) of microorganisms to mucosal cells, prevents biofilm formation, and exerts an antimicrobial effect on certain types of pathogens.

Xylitol thins and facilitates mucus discharge, retains moisture, thereby moisturizing and soothing irritated nasal mucosa, eases breathing, and improves sleep quality in patients with acute and chronic infectious and allergic diseases of the nasal cavity, paranasal sinuses, and nasopharynx. The presence of xylitol provides a sweet taste.

The concentration of the medical device components determines the hyperosmolarity of the solution, helping to remove excess fluid and eliminate swelling of the mucous membrane of the nasal passages and sinuses.

The components of the medical device do not react with the human body and are inert towards it, exerting no pharmacological, immunobiological, or metabolic action.

Nasal spray SNOTTY SINUS URGENT is used:

• to relieve swelling and nasal congestion, as well as congestion in nasal passages and paranasal sinuses in acute and chronic rhinitis, sinusitis, and allergic rhinitis;
• to facilitate thinning of nasal secretions and their removal from the nose;
• to wash away dust particles, allergens, and microorganisms from the nasal mucosal surface;
• in comprehensive treatment or for the prevention of colds, acute respiratory diseases (ARD), acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI), and other upper respiratory tract infections, for cleansing the nasal mucosa from infectious agents and preventing the formation of bacterial biofilms;
• to reduce congestion and restore normal functioning of the upper respiratory tract during infectious and allergic diseases of the nasal cavity, paranasal sinuses, and nasopharynx;
• to prevent the development of bacterial infections of the nose and paranasal sinuses;
• to reduce signs of inflammation of the nasal mucosa and paranasal sinuses;
• in the comprehensive treatment of adenoids in children;
• as nasal cavity care following surgical interventions, to restore the physiological state and functions of the mucous membrane.

Method of Administration

Dosage: 1-3 sprays into each nostril 2-3 times daily. If necessary, the frequency of administration may be increased. Duration of use is determined individually.

Use by children must be performed under adult supervision or assistance.

Before first use:

1. Remove the protective cap from the nozzle. Press the spray button quickly to break the tamper-evident protective seal.
2. Perform 1-2 test sprays into the air to ensure adequate flow or select one of the two spray modes by turning the tip of the spray actuator.

For irrigation or rinsing of the nasal cavity in children aged 3 to 6 years, it is recommended to select the nozzle setting «gentle spray» («fine mist»).

For children over 6 years of age and adults, the following nozzle settings are recommended: for irrigation — «gentle spray», for rinsing — «strong spray» (jet stream).

Method of use:

1. Clear nasal passages of secretions.
2. Select the desired spray mode by turning the tip of the spray actuator.
3. Tilt head to one side. Gently insert the nozzle into the upper nostril. Holding the container at any angle, perform the spray.
4. Tilt head to the other side and repeat the procedure with the other nostril.
5. Straighten head to facilitate mucus discharge. Wipe away remaining liquid with a paper tissue and, if necessary, blow nose.
6. Rinse the nozzle with warm water after each use.

In case of malfunction, discontinue use and return the device to the place of purchase.

Restrictions, Precautions, and Warnings

• For single-person use only.
• Not intended for children under 3 years of age.
• Nasal spray SNOTTY SINUS URGENT must not be used if the patient has hypersensitivity to any of the components of the product.
• A temporary tingling sensation may occur after the first few applications.
• Nasal spray SNOTTY SINUS URGENT leaves a natural sweet pleasant aftertaste.
• Does not require special storage conditions.

Warning! Pressurized container: May burst if heated. Keep away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, open flames, and other ignition sources. No smoking. Do not pierce or burn, even after use. Protect from sunlight. Do not expose to temperatures exceeding 50°C/122°F. Keep out of reach of children.
